WHO WE ARE

Lightbulb Film Distribution is an independent all-rights film distributor based in London, UK. The company was founded in 2018 by Peter Thompson and Matthew Kreuzer. We believe that content is king – but distribution is just as important. Sourcing content from around the world, we offer independent films a reliable and proven route to market.

Lightbulb Film Distribution work with all major digital platforms and UK broadcasters, ensuring that films reach the widest possible audience. Working alongside producers, filmmakers and sales agents alike, we help monetise independent films through long-established relationships and strategic placement. ABOUT US

Peter Thompson, Sales & Acquisitions Director / Partner

Peter began his career as an account manager at Revolver Entertainment in 2009, working on titles including Werner Herzog’s Grizzly Man and street-artist Banksy’s documentary Exit Through The Gift Shop. In 2012, he followed Matthew in joining Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment, where he worked on titles including Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing and Liam Neeson-narrated documentary Road. In 2015, he became Head of Sales at Arrow Films, working on titles including Takashi Miike’s Blade Of The Immortal and Clio Barnard’s Dark River.

Matthew Kreuzer, Commercial Director / Partner

Matthew began his career in the music industry, working at the Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street. He quickly became the Head of Singles buying at Virgin head office, where his department was responsible for over a third of all singles sales in the late 90’s. With the physical music market in decline, Matthew moved into film distribution in 2002. He joined Universal Pictures as an account manager, where he worked on franchises including Shrek and the Jason Bourne series. In 2005, he moved to Contender Group, working on series such as Spooks and Life on Mars plus the brand Peppa Pig. In 2008, Matthew joined Revolver Entertainment, as Head of Sales, where he was instrumental bringing Banky’s: Exit Through The Gift Shop into the business. Matthew joined Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment, as Sales Director in 2011, where his department released Michael Flatley: Lord of the Dance, Khumba: A Zebra’s Tale and the series Black Sails.
